Asian Youth Development Program in Okinawa

On 11th August 2015, we had a business model canvas group discussion in the morning. We learnt about finding the different aspect before starting up a business. I find it much more easier to set up a business aspect after learning about the business model canvas. It will also help us in our future business project since i am studying business course in Singapore. Even though it was confusing at first, after the lecture i finally understand.

After that in the afternoon we had a lecture on Purifying Global Water Level where we learnt about how this company help other people in making dirty water safe to drink. We had this experiment about cleaning the water with just a drop of water purication powder exacted from natto. I had learning how a simple act can change the world.

At night, we had a preperation of the vision board for year 2035. It was hard as we had conflicts and two of my group member cried because of language barriers. We all felt guilty that we stop doing the project and our tutors talk to us. After the talk, we finally work as a team on the project as a group and did a wonderful presentation on it.

Today, I could change the think about the business. Before I listen to Mr.Hide’s lecture, I thought the business is risky gamble. But now, the business is one of ways to achieve dreams. This is one of big changes in my life. Since my dream is green engineer, I never thought about the business, but my dream is related to business. Even if there is technology, we can not use it without business.
Also, from the Mr.Oda’s lecture, I could get big lesson entire my life. I couldn’t speak out my opinion because afraid fail. But , Mr.Oda said “Do not afraid of get fail, the fail is mother of success.” Thanks to Mr.Oda I could speak out my opinion at group discussion .
Today, every member get exhausted by nonstop 3 hours lecture, so we couldn’t make successful result. I hope everyone do better tomorrow, by using today’s fail.

I am glad to join AYDPO2015 a great experience and rare. Make friends abroad language and cultural exchange activities, talked with a friend that good. And the people are very kind and help each other, but sometimes they are the language barriers and attend some activities. But it goes well.,And it my frist time in abroad!

AUGUST 10, MONDAY：Today we arrived in Tokashiki Island. It is my first time in this island. It is a very beautiful island. Though the boat ride on our way to the island made me feel very dizzy and sick, the beauty of the island took all the bad feelings away and left me breathless. The accommodation we stayed in was a very peaceful place and very clean too! We spent the day snorkeling and having fun under the sun. We snorkeled and looked for corals with living fish, but unfortunately we only found about two corals that hold live fish. My group and I were very saddened by the dead corals. Other than the corals, we enjoyed the beach by rowing the boat and floating on the sea. It was so much fun having a day out to play. Sometimes learning comes outside lecture walls. I learned that sea life should be valued and time with friends is very important for everyday life. I was happy to have no lectures after the activity because I was very exhausted. I spent the night with my new roommates, Natsumi and Saki. I went to bed and felt very rested and safe. It was a great experience. I definitely enjoyed my first day in Tokashiki.

I didn′t do activity because i have sick and i can′t do activity because i didn′t have energy. But at Night i am join the activity “Youth Leader Presentation”because that is last night Youth Leader in Okinawa. And after Youth Leader Presentation i hug Rita and Yaned. Rita is Youth Leader in my group, Group 1, she from China, she so kind, i cried when i hug Rita, because when i have sick Rita keep support me, she said “You are strong, you can do it. You have a good chance to go to Okinawa, you are strong girl to go to other country for first time an without your family”i always remember it. And i make me so sad when she must go back to China. And Yaned, she is from Indonesia like me and Fachran. And she is like my sister. We goes to Okinawa together, but we don′t go back to Indonesia together, i cried when i hug Yaned she is so care to me. We have promise, sometime we must meet up. and if i go to Java she must go with me. We mate in AYDPO 2015 and now we are like family. I miss Yaned and Rita ：（

Aug 8th Okinawa Times

Today was a rather interesting day as the AYDPO participants were granted the privilege to attend a very informative lecture by Mr. Masami Tamura which correlated basic environmental energy issues , the rapid economic growth of the world and the primary causes of poverty. We learnt that it is exceedingly imperitive to strike a global balance between economic growth and the environment as the human race will fail to survive without either one. We were also given the chance to debate on the motion ‘The use of fossil fuels should limited. I learnt how to appreciate different sides of the argument and further strengthen my opinion on the same due to the turncoat nature of the debate.
