Aug.06 2014 – Day03

Aug.06 2014

On the 6th of August all of the participants had to wake up at 6:30am. After a hard time of waking up we head down to the cafeteria to have our breakfast. After having breakfast as a boost for the day we did our group discussion on Energy use and Non Energy Use.
At 12:00 we were all requested to have our lunch with each of our groups in the restaurant. During lunch we were informed that we were not able to experience Haarri boating due to the weather that a typhoon was heading to Okinawa. I would see in everyone’s faces that they were all dissapointed with the terrible news. But yet the coordinators and our amazing tutors didn’t stop us to have fun because they organized A Tutor’s Party where we played games and danced until 9:30 where we had our review for the day! After the review we went to brush our teeth and we were all in bed at 10:00pm.
It was a very tiring day but I had fun with my friends .

Thank You

Aug.11 2014 – Day08

Aug.11 2014

today was such a great day. Waking up at 6:30 we were tired but so excited that the sleepiness died down. We were going go to the beach. Enough said !
We left for the beach after breakfast at 9 and reached ready to hit the beach. I personally put on layers of sunblock but got massively tanned none the less however , everyone soon forgot all about their personal matters, pending work and absorbed the sun and the waves. We were divided into groups and did snorkelling and kayaking in turns.
I loved the feeling of being completely ignorant to the outer world and completely absorbed by the life of the sea. Even though I could only see a few fish, the entire experience was unforgettable. Kayaking too, along with swimming in the beach and taking tons of selfies was something that made today really special.
After the beach, we came back to the youth centre, rested and then had a 3 hour long group discussion ( not as scary as it sounds ) we spoke about our ideal futures and our group vision for 2034. We interacted with our team and discussed versatile ideas and thoughts.
all In all I had a great day. Great activities , great food and most importantly the greatest AYDPO family.

Today, during snorkeling section , we had four activities .I think they are swimming, snorkeling, Haarii and kayaking. When we went back to the Center, we had discussion about Our Future 20 years later . Then in the evening , we prepared for the mid- term presentation. To be summerized , it was one of the best day in this program for me.

Aug.14 2014 – Day11

Aug.14 2014

Today was the day of our final presentation. Everyone got up early to put the finishing pieces on their business proposal. At 9 o’clock we got ready to present, chairs were stacked, tables arranged and all were ready to present. The room was silence as one by one, our groups were called, and in order, we presented to the representatives from the government, VIPs, facilitators, tutors and our fellow AYDPO participants.

The ideas from each and every group were brilliant! They had all managed to tackle the issue of limited and scarce energy resources by developing new systems, whether it was building new machines, or starting a sustainable business. Our special guest, Mr George Hara, was part of our judge panel and lecturer for BOP business and venture capital investment. He gave his remarks in the final evaluation. Unfortunately Mr Hara could not stay for long, and after some inspiring words of encouragement we left for lunch.

After the wonderful meal provided to us by the cafeteria we had basically free time! Our presentation was over and it was time to relieve the stress of the past few days. There was piano music, fun and games. Everyone was anxiously waiting for the dinner BBQ.

We started eating early, the cool open air breeze made for an enjoyable dinner! After eating, we gathered up on top of the hill for the sunset on Tokashiki. There was tons of dancing and singing, photographs and memories. Talking late into the night, and sharing our experiences. The only thing left was to watch the sun go down and wait for the morning to come, then it’s off to Iejima Island!

■Aug.7-Day 6

Aug.7

After a nice meal in the morning, we started the visit to the Recycling Plant. All of us were very curious about how the “Super Sol” is made. Although it was really hot both inside and outside of the factory, we asked a lot of questions and learnt a lot.

In the afternoon, what impressed me most was the final presentation of last year. The performance given by the youth leaders was just AMAZING. They moved us via nice acting as well as passionate speeches and movements. I lived with those youth leaders for the 7 days, and great changes have taken place in me. I learnt how to be an outstanding person that makes everyone happy. Now they are back in their hometown, but I do feel that it is so meaningful to meet them in my limited life. And I am going to inspire others the same way.

Goodbye, youth leaders. You are moving on and I am as well. Take care!

What a sunny day! After breakfast we went to Shurijo Castle. As I come from China,I think it is very wonderful to visit there since the buildings there are quite similar to Chinese buildings. It was a fantastic trip for me.

And in the afternoon, after some time’s rest, we had the first lecture here whose theme was <Communication Theory>.Actually,I was very nervous before the lecture because I had not taken a lecture filled of English. At first,I could not understand the teacher well for his pronuncement was kind of different from people’s in China. But I was able to catch him later, which is very lucky for me.And then we played a game during which we got more information of other participants’ and reduced my anxiety.

Since the program just began yesterday,I have not known much of it.But people here are all very friendly and I am quite looking forward to the acticities later.Wish me a wonderful time here.
